    The ADF had the chassis spec made then galled if you had a look under the Mil L/R with the spare it had no room for sway bar, if you drive a civy L/R with sway bar then the Mil spec without, do a simple swerve and the body roll was amazing, early to middle 90's to combat drivers not being aware of the "roll" a conversion course was done (to educate the drivers) both with & without 1/2 ton trls on. Ask the guys who have Perenties how they handle. Don't forget there was another project veh after the Perentie.
    JACAB made the pods for the Ambo's, GMV's and ERV's pods came in at around 1 1/2 ton empty so when the veh was fully loaded "gunned up" I know of one that topped the scales at 3 1/2 ton over weight, this had implications on, driver was driving a veh over weight on public roads and wheel rims were cracking and tyres coming apart (casings) due to over weight.

    Its parked in my driveway now so if anyone has questions about dimensions etc, all I can say its awesome and a pleasure to drive.

    I thought the 130 was a great piece of gear but this 6x6 makes it feel like a 2a. It is absolutely beautiful to drive although you can feel the weight.

    good luck dude, great to see it went to a good home... How many Km's on the clock? How does the wife feel about her new daily driver..

    being an obvoius landy lover and living on the edge of the desert you should host a weekend with your local knowledge, we bash around Harvey and the like but a few of us would be keen to get away for a couple of days, leave Friday arvo come back monday after some desert driving..stay at a hotel have a few beers give it some thought and you could use your new "The purple Locomotive"

    It would certainly be good to have a few visitors up here. There are some excellent camping spots very close by, and some good 1 or 2 day trips from here around the old gold towns. Some of the old pubs aren't bad especially Ora Banda and Kookynie which is only a few k's from Niagara Dam. The 6by has just klicked over 100000 km's. Engines done 50000 and the running gear 14-15000 I'm led to believe. The Missus is recovering from the shock but is better after a ride around Kal.

    Thats an interesting vehicle that the Poms went off in. I've got the monster up on vehicle stands with wheels off so that I can check it out. It needs new bushes in the rear leaf springs and an exhaust manifold gasket plus I cant get the diff locks to operate which I put down to an air leak. The chassis is galvenised and landrover to the bulkhead then appears to be constructed of 75mmx75mm square tubing, drum brakes rear and disc front. It weighs 4980kg with about 250Lts of fuel. These photos were sent to me from All Terrain in Perth.
