idiocy.
Sure we have our bad drivers amongst us, but to accept a label from a bunch of morons headed by Scruby, plays into his hands.
I drive for a living, I spend hours on the the roads viewing all types of drivers. Sure there are the DUMB 4wdrivers( generally those picking up/dropping off kids during schooltimes).
Being called a BAD DRIVER just because you prefer to drive a 4wd is like saying everyone who drives a Volvo is sweedish, or that all P platers are bad drivers just because they are P platers.
I see more mistakes made by older drivers( we all know the type ( I v'e been driving for 40yrs never had an accident.....caused heaps though). Sure young drivers cop it as they have no fear as most still believe they are immortal.
Everyone speeds at sometime or another be it a few K's over or alot over.
Everyone's been in a hurry to get some where on time. Theres no point in stressing out just because some clowns riding your **** (No pun intended). Let em go be a MVA on someone else.
And if you get the chance to let them know how you feel at the next set of lights or in the carpark at Woolies then sure get out and let them know just how up set you really are.
Just don't forget to take the peace maker with you.
And remember Brakie noises are cool, especially when you make sure you got every last bit of glass.

Point of my original post is that there are some real psychos out there, or perhaps she was just having a really bad day.
Yeah I flipped her a casual finger when the best course of action would have been to ignore her, but after she went ballsitic I was trying to get out of her way and she wouldn't leave me alone, at that point it took an enormous amount of self control not to just run her off the road.
BUT - it's not worth the grief that actions like that would cause, injury, insurance woes, criminal charges etc etc.
I had the opportunity to vent my spleen, perhaps we should lock this now?
just to clarify, on the airport trip I was not speeding at all. It was I believe one of those hypocritical persons who does not like 4wd, then drives a 7 series beemer. If he wanted to sit 20kph under the speed limit then stick to the left lane or the back roads. Instead he came flying past me at a rate of knots, in an illegal overtaking move on one of those painted demarkation areas on the road that used to be traffic islands, cut me off and then slowed. These acts were deliberate not accidental and as it was I was annoyed. I am much more forgiving if it is an unintentional incident. Most people wil wave or some sort of motion as an appology and all is cool. Its the dorks that do it then give you the finger or abuse you.

How's this for road rage:
Two men charged with serious traffic offences – Kotara
25 August 2006
Two men are to face court today following an alleged dangerous driving incident in Newcastle.
About 1:40pm yesterday, a 42-year-old Kahibah man was driving a Ford Falcon station wagon when he was rammed from behind by a 39-year-old Edgeworth man driving a Holden Commodore whilst he was stopped at traffic lights.
The Kahibah man was exiting a car park into Northcott Drive at Kotara when he was hit by the Commodore.
He has driven off along Northcott Drive and the two vehicles have allegedly continued to ram each other for about 200 metres before the Holden forced the Ford to stop.
It will be alleged the 42-year-old has then reversed the vehicle against traffic in Northcott Drive heading to a car park on Bradford Close with the Commodore following. He has then rammed the Commodore before getting out of his car armed with a knife.
The two men fought before police from the Newcastle Local Area Command arrived and both drivers were arrested.
The 42-year-old suffered a laceration to his foot and was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment. He was later taken to Newcastle Police Station for questioning. He has been charged with disqualified driver, drive manner dangerous and custody of knife. He was granted bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on 28 August.
The 39-year-old man was taken to Newcastle Police Station for questioning where he was charged with drive manner dangerous and other offences. He has been bail refused to appear at Newcastle Local Court today.
Probably all over a parking space !!
Scott
Funnily enough, last time I went to Perth a guy tailgated me on Albany highway and then passed me in an overtaking lane.
As soon as he got passed, he slowed to about 105kph (I had cruise set to 110kph).
I then spent the next 50 or so km having to constantly back off so I didn't get too close.
Every time we came to an overtaking lane, he would speed up to 120kph+ so i wouldn't pass!![]()
The vehicle: A red P38 Rangie!![]()
I drive a lot as well, 200+ k's a day both around town (Melbourne) then back out of the city and to home (80ks nth)
Like you I get these clowns all too regular and while they **** you off and are idiots I don't let it bother me, one day they'll get theres probably in the form of a big accident and an ambulance ride
I always move to the left when not passing & I move left even if I am passing if someone comes up behind obviously travelling faster than me
Mind you I don't drive under the speed limit either I'm usually dead on it to 5ks over (by GPS speedo = 10-15 over on dash speedo)
I let people in if they indicate and I'm sure at the end of the day I have less stress and have lost maybe 2 minutes of my life for my courtesy and NO stress
If some clown comes up behind me and is all over my tail I move over when I can (OK sometimes when they are being a real ass I indicate then move over very slowly, no need to panic just cause they're an ass) and as they drive past I just smile and wave, sometimes if they are really going off I just blow them a kiss
Nothing makes a physco P plater pot head in a commondoor speed off like a 6ft bald guy blowing them a kiss![]()
While I laughed at some of your antics (especially the keys ones) I don't condone it and would never do it
Life's to short to waste my energy getting aggro with some moron who needs a lesson Driving as well as some manors

Scuse the typos, grammer and spelling but its been and absolute (lots of expletive deleted diatribes here) of a day and im fairly well tanked after an invite by a few of the boys for a few, less than quiet ones....
having had a few I feel I should point out the fun i had in sydney one day driving the disco to pick up my wife from work...
Happily sitting on 45kph on parramatta road heading to sydney leaving a lesiurley 35-40 odd meters between me and the car in fron so i dint have to go heavy on the brakes/gas/clutch and gear changes in peak hour traffic the lane i was in came to an unexpected stop. quite unthinkingly i checked my mirrors, indiecated left and changed lanes.
I completely missed WOG boy in his sports crumple zone overtaking me at warp factor "is that legal?" whome i cut off, cause i didnt check the center mirror just the left wing mirror, I was after all in the right hand lane..
so fnrugle brains decided that the appropriate actgion was to then sprint his little dinky toy past me cut me off, hook on the brakes then storm, on foot, in the middle of peak hour traffic to have a his fist to my face conversation...
being the end of what was a hot long day I, being inherintly lazy, had already preselected first before he got out of the car and had one foot on the clutch and whas heel/toeing the brake/gas with my right..
nuff nuff wog boy git proceded to introduce his fist to the top of my skull through the open window (air con for some reason i cant rememer was dead), having guessed his game I simply allowed my foot to sink on the loud pedal, slide off of the brake and then as i feigned unconsiousness drop off of the clutch...
2.3 ton disco, with 3.9l v8 efi at full noise with bull bar +apparntly unconsious driver given a 10m run up can push a mobile sports crumple zone a LOOONG way down parramatta road until said mobile crumple zone hits light post and is compressed about 2 feet.
What i didnt know was 3 or so cars back was an unmarked cop car that saw, and reported the whole incident..
my court evidence...
"your honour, I have no clear recolection of the events, I do remeber having to come to a halt for a stoped vehicle in front of me but my next clear memory was of a brown haired bloke with a concerned look on his face shaking my shoulder asking me if I was alright.."
The witnesses events carried the day and I got me a freebie bull bar and vehicle inspection.
Ahhh some days I love my landrovers.... still hate idiots in sports cars tho... The liscencing system is all screwed up, I rekon you should have to be able to competenly operate something overweight, underbraked and underpowered before they let you drive a highspeed lightweight.

If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
Some of the worst road rage incients I've experienced have actually been while off road. ( guess you could call it "off road rage")
Typically this is when you are making your way at reasonable safe pace along a narrow bush track and someone ( typically a Toyota 75 series ute with a huge V8 and 35 thousand lights ) tears up and sits right up your a** swearing and cussing at you. If it's at all possible I will pull over but sometimes it is not possible so they just get madder nd madder.
I guess they think cause its off-road its free for all hoon zone. What annoys me is it's like they think you have no right to be there.
