Addendum: sorry boys, I should have written "rolled around in the back of a Landrover since Saitch "

He does look, a fraction younger than the other bloke I mentioned.

Right Ian, ? you would have known both

You know, JT, looking at the photo, it's a wonder that I survived!

No hard hat, no long, Khaki strides with 37 pockets, no hi-viz, no orange, flashing lights on the Landy and unbelievably, no mobile phone.

I'm fairly certain that there wouldn't have been a 'Risk Assessment Form' in the glovebox, either.

Non-steel capped Blunnies were de rigueur and even double pluggers, on occasion.

I still remember this day. it was cold as a witch's.

Lol... I know. In the Army the clobber I wore was actually designed to be Lo vis, although there was a plethora of pockets. Boots were reinforced, but for a totally different reason.

Of course, in those days I wasn't allowed the head protection you wore. That came later. I became allergic to haircuts for some time.

Yes, well... After the Army, and my LR experiences therein, I went the Japanese route as well. The cars were still Datsuns then, but Patrols were sold as Nissan, like the trucks... Says something really.

The only pic I can find of my G60. Sadly, the pic has me in it. I think I'm the one on the left, but my wife of the time would have disputed that later.

Theo.jpg At the top of the red and white 'Witness Post' is Mt. Lindsay. Just behind me is Mt. Maroon and just in front of me, are the East and West peaks of Mt. Barney. (Which I had the dubious pleasure of scaling a few times)

For the life of me I can't remember the exact location, but I'm thinking the Mt. Sugarloaf area, South of Boonah, in Qld, going by the aforementioned mounts. Nowhere too exciting!

Perhaps not, but I have fond memories of the area, and would still consider moving there if prices were a little lower. Scenic Rim country.
