Great pictures Leonie, you're quite the artist.
Is that down near the mouth of the Murray?
Howdy folksjust a quick post about weekend spent camping with Dad. We took one of his Discos (he has a D1 and the D2 he calls Bob) Bob came on this trip to Wauraltee Beach, Yorke Peninsula.
Beautiful camp sites in the dunes, you have to book and pay per car, there is also free camping on the beach under different rules.
We camped in the dune sites.
There is also a fully accessible toilet on the grounds. I take my own as our camp-sites were a fair distance away and I need to take my own anyway so have a close accessible toilet nearby at all times.
Neither Disco missed a beat, 3.5 hour drive from home.
Crazy winds for a lot of the weekendnot much drone time due to winds. Thought the tent might fly away on the second night but it stood strong. Dads tent had a bit blow down.
It wasn't a 4wding type of trip, just a nice relaxing weekend away. Did explore the beach both with my powerchair and the discos.
We tried to catch fish for dinner but unfortunately nothing biting.
I've always loved camping, especially with Dad. So it was lovely to finally enjoy a trip away with my beloved Disco, and dad.
Unfortunately my powerchair lost just about all its battery in a single day, absolutely not normal, so probably up for new batteries. It was only thanks to it I could even go camping, in dunes/beach but also was then limited because then had no battery to go explore more around camp.
My manual wheelchair isn't a fan of the soft ish sand
It was absolutely fabulous to enjoy a camp

Yesreally lovely place. Lots of seaweed on the beach right now, which a local said it wasn't normal for so much. Camp grounds are nice and well kept though was smashed glass where someone had put a fire previously which don't know why folks don't clean up after themselves. The toilet whilst a long drop, is nice, clean, and accessible for anyone who needs to know for wheelchair/disability or even pram access, it's a big distance from the dune camp sites, but there for those who need.
Little video of the trip. Can't go on another till have rebuilt the motor now haha
