A couple of weeks ago I was told that I might be able to be considered for a trial program where they are looking to see whether chemotherapy is always the best treatment for people with my form of cancer. Today I was told that I have been accepted into the trial and that I will not have to have chemotherapy! Yay!
An early Christmas pressie for you John, I think you needed at least that. I hope things look up for you from here on.
Don.
Thanks heaps Don. I’m just about ready to start my life again. Been a bit of a rough ride, but heck, people do it way harder than I have.
Once again I am grateful to the people of AULRO for allowing me to indulge myself, but I now have a firm belief in talking, telling my story. I believe that everyone should.
That's great news, hope the trial works for you.
The leaps in medicine are incredible, I have a genetic heart issue. I was getting to the point I had trouble walking up hills and felt like I would faint. A new drug is on the market to treat this condition (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) and it has pretty much got me back to where I used to be health wise. My sister with brain cancer has was going to be dead around 12 month ago but is still with us due to medical advances.
Just came across this thread@Tins wishing you all the best and hope the latest treatment works well for you. Thank you for sharing your journey
I have heard some horror health stories lately and it makes you wonder when it’s your turn
Touch wood now but at 55 I have never had any serious health issues which is an absolute blessing and something that I shouldn’t just take for granted as I get older
Good news JT. I hope it works well for you.
Radiotherapy starts next week, 25 sessions. Sadly I’m not going to glow in the dark. I wanted to stand out.
Better to be out impatient than in out of patience.
Got my first ever tattoos last week. Dunno what the fuss is about, they faded in a couple of days... But, at my first radiotherapy session yesterday they told me the tatts show up just fine under X-Ray, so I guess the only girls I'm going to impress are radiographers. Or is that radiologists? Both, possibly. Neither, probably.
