I sharpened them yesterday and they're good for three or four shoes and a couple of murders.
    Cheers, Billy.

Told ya I could hear it. Probably should turn my hearing aids down.

Been off the cancer drugs for a bit over six weeks and I feel so much better it's ridiculous. It was touch and go there for a while. Shrink was going to bung me in hospital and electrocute me, or words to that effect. Put me on some other form of narcotic instead. Can't say which one has caused the improvement, but I'll take it. It hasn't been fun.

On another note, a part of this whole adventure is regular tests of other bits and bobs. Teeth, ok. Bone density, marginal. Bloodwork, no problems. Liver function good ( who said alcohol killed it? Well, I haven't had a drink for 32 months so maybe it got better ). Eyes... now here's a nice surprise. Very healthy, and from a legal standpoint 20/20 vision unassisted. Not bad for 71. So I don't have to make a spectacle of myself.

So, the prognosis is, regular scanning to see if the cancer returns, which is impossible to put a number on. They will want to prescribe Tamoxifen, but that has a risk of blood clots. Not sure that's a good thing for a former truckie who sat all the time. They told me that they had surgically removed the cancer, and then zapped what was left, so I'm just going to take my chances. The drugs made me feel so bad, and I was destined to take them for ten years. Ten years, feeling like that? Nope, not for me. I'd rather live better and shorter than longer miserably.

Might have had some very excellent news on a more local level, but that's another discussion.

For those of you who have indulged me with this thread, thank you.

Ple ased to hear you seem to have come out the other side, scared but alive.
Ask your doc if you can mix Tamoxifen with rivaroxcaban.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

My next appointment is with the oncologist is in a month. I’ll discuss it with her/him. There’s a team so I don’t know who I’ll see.

Glad you thought so. I wasn't so sure myself for a while there.

Scared? Well, in. hindsight I would say yes to that, but I wasn't at the time. I just wanted it to be over, one way or the other. Scarred? Definitely, but they heal.
