    A visit from Storm Bert

Due to a visit from a Storm named Bert power was out from 6.15am until 8.20pm. Candles and windup lanterns were the order of the day. As Mr Bert is supposed to put in another visit tomorrow the candles and windup lanterns are still out as a standby measure.
If Mr Bert had called a day or two earlier I could have been in a spot of bother.

That loòks like a low pitch for a building in an area for which it would not be unreasonable to expect snow.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Yep low pitch. House was built in 1976. We bought it in 1986 and have been in it ever since. The work to replace the tiles and membrane is the only major work we have had to do to the house so we cannot complain. It was originally felt under the tiles but regulations change so it is a membrane now. Work all finished now.
The houses each side of me have a higher pitch and are fitted with slates.

No mica problem with this house. Some of the problem homes, and there are lots of them, will bring tears to your eyes. Hard to believe how the perpetrators sleep at night.
