you used to be able to get a camel burger in Birdsville , quite large and delicious.
the shop hasnt been open last couple of times I made Birdsville ( I've been there a number of times ) , I believe because either the butcher or slaughterhouse supplying the meat hasn't been.
there is/was a place in Pt Augusta offering camel and kangaroo meats in bulk or value added as pies and precooked meals.

I had a wild goat campfire oven at Ikara ranges in Wilpena pound. Very nice. I could have taken a camel but my fridge was full of saltbush lamb and the goat
A mate over that way says his camel bbq is sensational. I know he is choice part man mostly. Its sad we do not see a lot more of them in supermarkets. Culling/management is required; Wasting is not
While frogs legs may be an interesting idea for some. A beautiful bit of venison is hard to pass up in my opinion.![]()
