Maxi turned into Magnesium & Glass!

    Howdy All

I was recently told by someone on the forum that I had gone AWOL and inferred I might have been turning to the dark side Can you believe that! They shall remain nameless.

I had been saving up for a maxi locker for Kimba, but......something else caught my eye and I have bought a new camera and lens.

Magnesium alloy body.....5fps.....10meg......and it works a treat!

    Hmmmm.....Nikon D200

Alright....sorry, back to Landies and saving for that locker again.....

Very nice but how are you going to get to those interesting places to take a beautiful photo without the lockers?

    Very nice camera.

I wanted to buy one before a trip I did to South America earlier this year but the back log of orders meant it wouldn't have arrived in time so I bought a d70s and a couple of new lenses instead.

Which lens did you pick up?

If your into candid lowlight photography you can't go past the Sigma 40 1.4, the best slr lens I have ever used, but then again I am a fan of the fixed lenses.

Look forward to seeing some of the results you get with the new setup.

Mr Tombraider -- Nikon = Land Rover (uncompromised and function over form). Canon = Toy/Nissan (built for the masses).

Pedro -- I think 10MB will keep me going, cannot really see the need for increased pixels for what I am doing. The stores love comparing megapixels, but at the end of the day there is very little between 6MB and 10MB....except for the need to upgrade your computer.

At the end of the day, bodies come and go, lenses are the real investment.

Reads -- does she want to jump from Minolta to Nikon? How many lenses does she have?

Dobbo -- Kimba has never really let us down without the lockers and we have been to some lovely places. The lockers are more for the fun

    Now for the maxis....

Yeah i think she does. She has a 100-300, 28-80 (2 off),18-28 (wide angle), 28-210, 400, and a 2x convertor (which double ups all of them)
