Main event in NSW is the rain, and, close to the coast, wind.

Just here, today we have quite a strong wind, but no signs of rain, which isn't supposed to be here until late Sunday/Monday. Forecast at present is 35 - 95+mm. We've only had half a millimetre since this time last month, so things are getting a bit dry.

I hope you get some rain, JD. It bemuses me how quickly moisture disappears from the soil.

Especially in summer. We have just has a couple of weeks with maximums close to or above 40°, and pretty much the same for most of January. But only in the mid thirties for the last few days, and should be down to the high twenties for most of the coming week, before climbing into the thirties by Thursday.

Getting a bit breezy here now, but no worse than we've had without a cyclone. I'm expecting the wind to increase, but not catastrophically.

Still no rain, but the wind is still going, and a few bits of rain showing up on the radar not too far away.

Our area copped a bit of a flogging, overnight. 144mm and pretty strong winds. My 1000 litre fire tank, which I had put 300 litres in, moved about 2 metres. We have a lot of smaller branches down, near the house. I haven't been down the paddocks yet, as it's still heavy rain and I'm soft.

No power. Genny been earning her keep for a day or two, now.

All gone, everything's a bit damp but calm with no rain. Can't report on rainfall as the gauge has gone to god.

Still lots of rain here, with a fair, old breeze overnight. Lost a few, bigger branches near the house. (I'm still soft!)

    Genny still keeping household happy.

Edit: According to my Chief Statistician, we have received 300mm since 0600 yesterday to 0630 today and counting.
