From time to time we see posts about dealings with dealers or in some cases, referred to as stealers for obvious reasons.
Now we hear stories of the problems that many of the members have had with different dealers so just for once I’m going to post a good story.
Well I’m a member of the fledgeling Gold Coast Land Rovers Owners Club and the local Land Rover dealer has been pretty supportive of the new club.
Sure, I can hear your brains ticking over saying “ because they are going to get some sales by doing it “ and yes I would imagine this is the prime reason behind their support.
I was away three weekends back when just 200 metres up the first track someone notice pools of oil under my RR.
To say I was NOT HAPPY JAN, would be an understatement.
My weekend was cut short and I had to limp home, stopping regularly to check and when needed, top the oil up.
To add insult to injury, the Thursday before going away, I had a new windscreen fitted and while limping home, copped another busted windscreen. I was now doubly NOT HAPPY JAN.
Not sure what the problem was, I put the Rangy into Bruce Lynton's Land Rover to get it fixed.
They rang me and informed me that it was a cracked sump cover and although they couldn’t find what caused the problem, it was not a warranty fix and that they were a bit busy but they would get to it as soon as they could.
Now to be honest, I was not surprised that wasn’t a warranty job and the fix was going to cost around $1500 for parts and labour. I told them to go ahead and fix it and that I was in no hurry to get it back so they could take their time.
Picked it up yesterday and the bill, covering the parts and a wheel alinement came to just over $800 but the was NO CHARGE for labour.
That’s somewhere around 7 to 10 hours labour for nothing.
It would be pretty hard to find another dealership that values their customers like that.
Cheers
