    So that's why.....

Kings winch. On my D2, but was swapped from the D1, where it sat for some time. Stopped working.... Oh well, clean it up and see wot appens.

Might try and get a better seal. It's never done any water crossings in the D2, but likely did in the D1 at some time.

Freeing up the brushes without breaking them was a challenge. Got the whole brush plate soaking. Hope it works, or I'll have to fit the Tigerz11 one.

Are you sure you did not store it for a while in a bucket of water?

My Warn XD9000 is probably the same on the inside. Its a shame when they were meant to have been a quality winch at the time. But these days, with IP67 rated winches.... well these problems are on their way out. No more need to connect the winches up to an air compressor for water crossings.

I gave away a Warn, low mount, can't remember the model, to a forum member some years ago. It was so full of rust. I dunno if he got it working but I couldn't be bothered. Don't really use it enough to warrant an expensive one, but it's a pita when it doesn't work when I do want it.
I was looking at the Tigerz one and it seems to be a stronger build, but that's subjective. It's also older, came with the Oka.
