Thread: Split in Undertray 60 litre Watertank

I became aware that our freshwater tank on the 'tilly, was leaking. I bit the bullet, lifted the tray and removed the tank. The photos show what I found. Why/how it split, up in the most protected area, remains a mystery. Stress, perhaps?

Is it 'Throw away' or fixable? Plastic welding, perhaps? Being a split, I'm thinking plugging it won't work.

Tank split welded and reinforced. The repairer will make custom water tanks for Landies, on request. He reckons he could make a snodger of a tank to fit in the D3's spare tyre cavity. Also, being a motorcycle enthusiast, he will repair fairings, side covers etc. He repairs poly, house water tanks. One of his mobile 'Welders' is worth $12,500.
