HI my son Kristopher and his partner flew out today for Frankfurt and straight to Munich. They are stopping in Hong Kong for a 5hr lay over. Hong Kong only reopen there airport yesterday after 2 days due to the typhoon. Here are some of the place they are going to Munich Salzburg, Fussed Zurick Bern Cologne Hamburg, which is near where Mario was born Berlin Colmar France Amsterdam Helsinki Tallin Stockholm I don't know which order they are traveling. They are there for a month, all book in airbnb, flights train. And Kristopher is going to hire a car as well, hope he stays of the auto barn. At least he can speak and read German. This is Bronte first international flight ever. I miss them all ready but they have save for this trip for a good while, I told them to be careful of pick pockets, scammers etc. And when they come back it will be 6 months before I do my trip to New Zealand for 2 weeks. My other son Brendon that lives in Japan has his girl friend moving in with him in the 2 weeks she comes from Colorado, but lives in Japan. Just so proud of them and how they have grown up to be wonderful and caring men. I know Mario would be so proud of them. Heather.
They are now flying over Turkey and the black sea, another 3 hrs to go. Then they are catching a train from the airport to Munich which is another 3hr before they get to there airbnb.
It amaze me that other countries have trains from the airport and Melbourne can not do one.
Well Kristopher has hired a small VW Polo car for 10 days, he is heading in to Salzburg Austria today which will be in the afternoon here as they are 8hrs behind us. He said it going to be interesting to drive on the auto barn.
Which I will worry about, hopefully he will be smart about it which I think he will be
They went to the October festival and he said it is really big over there. And the beer glasses they use. Heather
Dear Heather,
Wow wee!
What a fantastic itinerary they have. Just superb.
Thank you for the update.
As your son speaks German, they will very much enjoy Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
In Finland, Netherlands, Estonia and Sweden, the locals are happy speaking English.
I wish them Stimulating Travels and a Safe Return.
best wishes, Jeff

Hi Jeff
Kristopher study German through his high school years and the school went to Germany as part of there course.
I don't know if you knew Mario was born in Germany and came to Australia when he was 4 years old
Kristopher was always interested in Germany. There is a small town in Germany called Recke which is our surname. But Kristopher couldn't get in to there plan as it was out of there way.
My other son Brendon did Japanese and he is now living there working translating and promoting Nagano. He did go over there to teach did that for 3 years. He has live there since 2019
Hi I am one proud mum, as Kristopher has asked Bronte to marry him and she said yes. So now I have a daughter in the family.
I knew he was going to ask her before they left on this trip. But Kristopher want some where special on the trip to ask her.
I just wish Mario was still here to enjoy this special moment in Kristopher life
