    2 Aussie icons gone.
Three actually. South Australian Author Colin Thiele also died this week.

Author of Storm Boy, Blue Fin & a host of children's & Adult literature. He just wasn't an "Action Man".

    Very sad news,
Peter was a great driver, a humble winner and an inspirational Aussie.

too true Des, I posted on another forum ealier in the week how his books influenced this little tacker growing up, but I'm just stunned when I read about Brocky.

I truly thought he'd go on forever. Bloody tarmac rallies have claimed more lives than circuit racing and dirt rallying combined over the last twenty years.

I've watched him drive so many times, as a littly growing up in the seventies, at the track as a spectator in the eighties and actually competing in the same meetings in the nineties.
Can't describe how I feel ATM.

Better to go out doing what you love then die of old age to crippled to enjoy your life.

Life is a gift do something with it before it is reclaimed.

Guess St Peter has got a few interesting stories to tell this week.

And if they have to go in threes can we squeeze in George W Bush and Bonzai (Howard) as a 2 for the price of 1 deal?

    Irony,

A search in the archives came across this article Brock praising Andy Caldecott (another now fallen hero)

I had the pleasure of listening to Peter speak at a Variety Club charity auction in Melbourne about 6 weeks ago. He was great person and very generous with his help to charities. I just wish I had bid on one of his autographed jackets as the bidding on them was suprisingly low.
