For the money i like the new model focus, a cast improvement on the old model and a nice roomy car. Failing that the Mazda 3 or the new Golf. Matt

The Diesel isn't slow at all, it outpeformances the petrol in most respects, thanks to lots of low-down grunt.

There are people who spend all weekend cleaning the car.
And there are people who drive Discovery.

Well, you're not going to believe this but we are now talking about a fiesta. We just have to confirm they are big enough They are supposed to be a cracking drive.

The scenic is still on the cards though.

Cap'n, you're making my head spin.

I gathered you wanted a little more interior space?

Compared to a Land Rover everything is a cracking drive, but compared to a MINI?

Perhaps a Maserati Quatroporte would give you the performance and the space you're looking for? But, unfortunately, a little long for the garage.

No no... one or the other.

See, the car just has to be big enough to do the shopping run. Mum, two kids, a pram and the shopping. 4 doors is a big thing. Anything where we need more space we have the defender for.

I'm trying to get something that we can sell in a couple of years and not take a bath on. I've found this fiesta ghia that has gone from a 25k car to a 15k car in not two years with only 17k on it

Even if we buy it and own it for 2 years I reckon it will only have 30k on it, and we should still get 12-13 for it.

On the positive side the fiesta has "class benckmark" dynamics according to wheels.

We drove the scenic on Saturday. It was nice However I could hustle the fender around more quickly. At one point we were taking off from the lights and not really doing anything too much and I looked at the saleman with horror and said "that's flat"

My friends have started asking me "what car is it this 24 hours" LOL.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it earlier but the MINI went to a 20 yo kid still on his learners last night He did seem like a nice kid though

I was stunned at how little power it had. Admittedly it was an Auto.. but still.
