Aren't they still classed as Australian.

It's interesting to see that Tasmania differs itself from Australia on the subject of beer but will still try and classify themselves as Australian on any other subject.

Isn't the Guinness in Aus brewed in Tassie as well? I never looked that close at the can's (If I have to drink it from a wiggetted tin much prefer it on tap) besides I'm too busy drinking it's goodness to care where it's brewed.

Tassie is overseas (Just stirring the pot)

The Guinness "extra" or "special" or "export" is brewed here and everywhere. Tis in the smaller can with the yellow oval label, or the tallies, or stubbies.
The Draught (big can or 330ml bottle with the widget) is from OS

Now that's just nasty, I mean I leave tasmania occasionally!!

Also, Boags is far and away the best as far as i'm concerned, although I don't mind a couple of the cascade products as well

As an expat South Aussie, I know what you mean. West End Drought is the beer of choice for 18ths, 21sts, etc. I will admit it is a good training beer, if you can stomach that stuff, then you can drink anything!

All this talk of beer reminds me that when I lived in WA for a cuppla years, I was a keen Redback drinker, and still grab a 6 pack every now and then, and also I think it was Swan Draught. But some of the best beer I ever had was some brewery heading south, was on a big property, had all sorts of their own labelled beer, excellent stuff. One was like a burnt bitter and about 7%, cuppla those ann everyone looked good . IF any of you WAULROIANS know of the place, please let me know, would love to know if they ever started to sell to bottle shops,

    Regards

    Stevo
