    Australian Army Auction

    Hi,

I bought my last SIIa ex army from the old auctions at Holsworthy.

Do the Army still do the Public Auctions, or is it outsourced these days.

Keen to start looking at what is getting retired. ie: Trucks and Landy's.

I tried googling around but can't find a hit.

    Cheers.

    Hi there

Well there hasnt been alot of ex army gear going to auction - they just seem to be rebuilding-refurbishing the old landys.

When they eventually do - there will be alot of intersted people.

    Hey Dobbo,

I knew, using the heading, that I would get a quick response.

So would they still do it directly, from Holsworthy or would they go throught the likes of Pickles.

I hear mutterings about trailers appearing soon, but nothing concrete yet. I've seen bridging leopards and some other tank type stuff appear on Slattery auctions. Otherwise a lot is released through pickles, but no land rover stuff for some time.

I moved from Glenfield a few years ago but from memory the old auction site is now Pickles, can anyone confirm this?

I thought they might start flogging gear off so they can pay for the bushmaster's.

Gee, I would consider giving up my 110 to get my hand on one of those babies.

Consider, that is. I would have to take a bushy for a test drive first.

G'day All, my sixpence worth, Pickles have been doing the auctions for some years now, most of the fleet of 110's are going through Tenix Albury/Wodonga for a refit that will probably see them through for at least the next 10 years, so if it's any consolation I won't be in the market for a 110 ex-military, in fact I may not even be alive u never know!!! do you.
My 110 3.9 diesel will probably still be going strong , but I could be a back seat driver by then anyway cheers Dennis

No, dont been in em and driven em... Id rather a landie...hell Id almost rather walk... but its got kick ass aircon..

get a russian one, or an afrika corps one....

Pickles auctions take care of 90% of the ex mil stuff. The mob out near holsworthy is best.
