It's all about trying to minimize your impact on the environment. Be aware of what you're doing.

You don't have to deny yourself the pleasure of driving your Land Rover. Why not try an alternative once or twice a week? Walking, ride a bike or take public transport.
    Cheers

Just remember - some overpaid advertising goose with a hyphenated surname and a cocaine addiction probably came up with this ad.

The "in your face" environmentalists and "rent a mob" demonstrators are the biggest hypocrites out. Next time you see some buffoon on the corner in a koala suit and a bucket in his hand asking for donations, tell him you gave at the office, and then ask him if he knows that the $250 Nike shoes that he is wearing were made in a 3rd world country for 5 cents.

I think most people these days are conscious of caring for the environment - whether it be recycling rubbish, planting a tree or saving whales. And we don't need organisations like Greenpeace running misinformation campaigns such as this.

    Misinformation???

Hey lets face it four wheel drives use alot of fuel, compared to many other types of common vehicles.

The message in the add, at least what I saw, is large fourwheel drives use alot of fuel and why does buddy need to drive one into the city everyday. Did I miss something?

Hey check my sig. I drive a large fourwheel drive. Not everyday though. In fact I rarely start it once a fortnight. It's purely for fun on the weekends that I do go bush.
    Cheers

Fair call, but I still believe misinformation. i.e. That anybody who drives a large 4wd is a W****R (look at the rear windscreen), is a P***K (look at his back) and will generally be treated as a leper and have his coffee spat in etc etc. They'd be better spending their advertising dollars on stopping Japan's whaling industry for "scientific" research.

And most people probably can do this by such things as avoiding unnecessary trips, car pooling, using public transport, walking for short trips etc. And a four wheel drive running on biodiesel has less greenhouse contribution than an electric car - especially in NSW where most electricity is coal generated.

I would not be too concerned about Greenpeace - they have lost a lot of the credibility they had originally because of a long history of deliberate lying and falsification.
Actually manufacturing a hybrid (and running it its 3 yr lifespan - Toyota Prius, as stated by toyota) creates more polution than the building and operation of a H2 Hummer over 5 years.

Hybrids are more destructive to our enviroment than the conventional stuff!

Most large boats have V8 or more engines in them.
So maybe they should point a finger there.
So now we are going to shift the blame on to boat owners???.

Perhaps an informed view of exactly what boats are would be better.

I have a 2005 17.5 foot Glastron ski boat which is powered by a 115hp johnson, which happens to be more ecconomical to run the 93' Rangie, I also have a 2005 Kia Pregio I run as a Courier Vehicle.
I'd Say I spend approx. $450 a week on fuel For all of my Vehicles, boat included.

That being the case I guess this ad is meant for guys like me Right??!!

Give me an alternate fuel to use that doesn't pollute and I'd be more then happy to use it.

I don't think the issue here is what you drive or where you drive it.

In an ever growing world full of people hell bent on making their life easier, I think the main Issue is How we use our vehicles.

When was the last time you walked to the corner shop instead of hopping in the car. Or Used public transport(Yes I know the trains don't run on time but you'll have to take that up with Ron and Dobbo ).

Yes I use alot of fuel to run the Vehicles I own most of which is work related, which I guess isn't an excuse but theres a damm site less pollution generated from the exhaust from any of my vehicles then there is from the Power Stations needed to run the electricity that a highrise office building uses. i.e. lights, air conditioning, etc

Just where is the greenpeace head office again??????

But then I guess if the die hard greenies had their way we'd all be living in a commune in Nimbin.

    Peace MAN!!

CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What do you drive during the week?

My Defender uses less fuel than a Toyota Camry, Commodore, Falcon....

And yes, I think you did miss something....

Its more enviromentally friendly to only have ONE VEHICLE.... Not the going to work vehicle and the going bush vehicle.

    Cut the crap

Maybe the dude is a *****.

You've got a point. Greenpeace should make their point without trying to alienate a large part of the driving population by calling them ******* and *****s.

    Good on ya.

I actually ride a bike 2 or 3 times a week and drive a 3 cylinder Charade (5 litres per hundred k) the other day/days.

I'm no saint when it comes to environment. I do alot of stuff that is wrong. Why not try and make good where ya can? Thats all I'm sayin.
