    Sounds good tony it took me 3 weeks of drivengrumpy as a front wheel drive before i had the time to fix her so i know how you feel ...

    i dont think i will be coming this time.....i will be working on the saturday...
    i need the dollars...!!
    still havent fixed the rear radius arm.....i have tracked one down......its $70 dollars second hand......

    i want to try and get to roverones for the christmas trip if things work out.....

    it was just different in lenght.....i think it may have been cheaper to just get one made up from scratch....
    and a lot less hassle too......


    its not as common as the other shafts......they bear the number FTC3905....mine was a FTC4198....
    no one seemed to have one.......and even fewer even had a listing of it.....

    i think the reason for the different shaft may have been because they went to the rover diff........

    thanks guys......

    lurch was always mobile.......as long as the diff stayed locked.....
    but there were plenty of strange noises when changing gears......as the big heavy hand brake drum
    would keep spinning when the clutch was pressed...taking up all the backlash in the box and transfer case.....
    then flicking back with the next gear and so on.....


    it sounded like the entire driveline was falling out.....
