    lurch is whole again......

yes.....i have finally got the tailshaft and put lurch back together again.....

i even managed to drive him without the centre diff lock.......its been a while.....
he has had the centre diff locked since stockton......

as soon as i fitted and greased the new propshaft.....i washed up......
then went to the servo to fill up the tank.....thats the longest a tank has ever lasted in lurch......
i last filled it up in stockton.......(back then when i broke him....)...hows that for economy.....?

it felt a lot quieter and smoother as a 4wd.....and all the clunks and rattles from underneath stopped as well....

it felt great to drive it again.....

a big thankyou from both lurch and myself goes out to scouse......for organising the new and correct part......

    cheers.....and thanks again scouse.......

Fantastic news, had he stayed Fwd for much longer you'd have to of lowerd Lurch and fitted a doof doof stereo and gone cruising, mayby a big blow of valve for the turbo, a really big intercooler out the front and a 6inch exhaust tip.
    Thank god he's a 4wd again.

    He he.
Unfortunately, this was a part freighted in from the UK - my spares stock didn't include an late Defender prop shaft .

Glad to hear all the strange noise have disappeared Tony. It might be worth fitting lock nuts to the prop shaft bolts if they're that hard to get .
    Scott
