So that makes it a TD5 problem then, not a Tdi issue (excepting the fans which are obvious). I thought the fuel pumps were rigged to stop when the engine stopped as a crash safety measure though.
Anyway, my main concern when I heard your recommendations was that nothing in the car might overheat or burn out. My aux power is off the 2nd battery, but my cigarette lighter (Ooops it's CIGAR lighter in a Land Rover) is off ignition, so I was thinking I could leave IGN ON for awhile if I was powering something off the CIGAR lighter.
