When I broke down in Birdsville last year, LRA in there wisdom sent my car to Port Augusta. It arrived there only to find they had closed

They then had to send it onto Adelaide, Black Forest.
It would have been closer to send it to Sydney, WHERE I LIVE!
Not to mention how much cheaper it would have been too!!

Is there something at Birdsville that kills Land Rovers ?
Tusker was towed from there a few months ago , but it came straight to Sydney.

    Not too sure Scott,
My last trip in July I broke down on the Canning Stock Route, about 40k's north of Durba Springs. That's a long way from a dealer.... and civilisation!
    Did the front diff.

Patched the hole, removed the front prop, drove back to Glenayle Station in 2WD then got towed to Kalgoorlie had a new centre fitted. Luckily no more probs as I continued back across Oz, across the Simpson, through BIRDSVILLE and out the other side then had a new housing fitted in Sydney by you guys a few weeks back.

Jeez you did that good and propper didnt you, very nasty.

Its the same anywhere really, even if your toyota broke down you would still need a decent tow, at least with a land rover its all the way back to sydney, which does wonders for you fuel economy figures.

Mental note.... don't bet against Lokka

    Yes that's right, it's a D2, MY04.
Still deciding on how to strengthen the diffs, ARB lockers with Maxi axles is where my head is at the moment! But I'm still toying with the Maxi lockers after discussions with Bush65 last weekend I know this topic's been spoken about at length on this forum, so it now comes down to money.

The only diff I've seen looking like that was the rear diff in my S2a - and it didn't go through the housing. The front diff in the 110 has a four planet centre, I think out of a 130.
