Indeed! Nobody should deprecate anyone elses vehicle, I became very unhappy with my Disco last week to the point I couldnt appreciate it. It's like the auto vs manual debate, its bottomless and by being antagonising you just make both camps unhappy / cant appreciate their vehicle;) .Quote:

he pointed out a few problems or let downs as he sees them, and had some nice things to say about ones he didnt previously like..
personaly i thought some of his points valid and others not so valid
i certainly didnt see anything that deserved some of the invective thrown as a response..

i have and the man is a very highly qualified and highly respected professional, not to mention very likeable, and he is not with out a clue or bank balance i shouldnt think, so the green eyed monster bit is more than just a little inappropriate
i personally find that response quite offensive and extremely arrogant.
its a real shame some of you cant deal with a difference of opinion with out descending to the personality perspective, very very disappointing.

Well I would personally like to thank those people on this site and elsewhere that buy new Land Rovers. As without them where would I get my second hand ones from?
The Land Rover I have from memory sold for $39990 plus extras when new in 1994. I seem to remember most base model mid size 4x4s selling for that about then (I was only in grade 10).
With Land Rover resale it won't be long before the current crop of new Land Rovers are affordable for the masses on the second hand market.
I know Jamo and I have been through your pain - when the 300tdi's Defenders first came out I copped a lot because the Counties were "better" and had been proven in the field, and the 300tdi's had their share of problems - quite serious ones too! (timing belts? mainshafts anyone?) Any problems people have experienced in the Discovery 3's are quite tame by comparison...Quote:
