    Whats the difference?

I wouldnt mind a p38a once the disco is paid off and i have some cash, but i was just wondering appart from the 4.6L and 4.0L motor whats the difference between the HSE model and the ones below it, i understand that the HSE has all the fruit but what did they come with? Is buying an SE with the 40L donk a safer buy, how much less electronic trickery do they have as opposed to the HSE? Matt

I like them, i think they are highly underrated. I think with homework and care when buying there is no reason why you cant get a good one. Sure some have thier problems but they are still a top car. Matt

i thought it was fairly well documented the dramas with them

to be honest with a young family with funds streached id be very carefull $ wise for your money you can buy some good ones yes but is it realy worth it

i like them as well ive got a mate that has just bought one for the pose factor

and so far hassle free except a few electical gremlins ill be watching to see how it goes

its your call think the expence everytime a code or a electrical drama happens its back to the stealers for a fix i know i couldnt afford to have a car off the road as well as being the stealers which = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I see where you are coming from, the same thing worries me aswell, but if you stick with a lower spec SE 4.0L how much in the way of electrical stuff is there to still go wrong? Matt

Didn't you post a while ago you were buying a Defender soon? Then you were enquiring about a D3, now it's a P38A!

Not a bad car at all, very comfy, go on Ace go buy one now, Oh when you get the loan remember to get an extra $10k on top of the amount to pay for the engine rebuild, then you shouldn't have an engine problem for 80,000 km's and thats if it's looked after.
