Nissan Patrol death traps on Ch7 now

Anyone else watching the NZ cop show?

They are talking about a GU Patrol that was in a fatal crash. Funny thing is that they are mentioning problems with its handling that I have read about many times on forums.

And in the end they discounted any handling problems because they couldn't be substantiated.

My dad is on his 3rd pootrol and i have never liked the handling in them, they seem to wobble and bump all over the shop, even my 25 year rangie handled better.

I have a number of friends with new landcruisers that also have old rangies and prefer to drive them as they drive so much better.

Ohhhh come on don't spoil the fun

Yes they did mention they could find no fault with it at the end. However how many times have you had a vehicle in for a fault and they send it back with no fault found?
Makes it even more difficult to find the fault when the vehicle is smashed to bits.

I saw it too, but the bottom line is he took a 55 klm/hr corner @ 100 maybe more, he sure slammed into that truck.
If he complained often about its handling, it was pretty dumb to push it hard.

Yes he did. I'm not sure about that corner in particular however I find many of the speed advisory signs to be on the low side. I think they said it was estimated at travelling about 80km/h.

They are set for the worst conditions, that's why they seem low in good conditions.

Like Rick, what makes the Patrol any worse than other 4WDs handling wise they weigh about the same as a Disco

Having had a Patrol for 2 years as a work vehicle and used it in response conditions under lights/sirens, I couldn't honestly say it was bad handling. Maybe its not as refined as some other vehicle and certainly plenty better that the heap I've got now.

Mind you the one I had was a shortie
