Dont forget the honest hard working family men who cant get a break and are trying to make a better life for themselves and their family or are we happy just tarnishing everyone under one banner and abusing them just because they drive a taxi. Bet they saved your but once or twice while you have been drunk as a skunk.

A former mate decided while high on pot and drunk as hell, decided it would be funny to rip the roof racks off my mothers car, plus damage the windscreen wipers, let a tyre down and **** on it. I had drove it and left it outside thinking it was safe. Two years later, he leaves his car laying around at a party, and me being a person to hold a grudge, lets all 4 tyres down flat. Heard he was there for a while trying to pump the tyres up with a cheap 12 V air compressor....

Another former mate used to do this for fun, though would be good for revenge. Super glue the door key holes, piece of fruit in the exhaust or missing fuel caps and water in the tank.....

Maybe a bit harsh, but awfully close to the truth. I think they have ripped me off more times than saved me. My taxi usage would not have averaged one trip a year over the last thirty or so years. The taxi industry has trouble attracting decent staff even during periods of high unemployment. The taxi business has arranged an employment scam that it got through the High Court in the face of strenuous opposition from the ATO and Dept. Social Security. The drivers are classed as "self-employed". They "lease" the cab for the "duration of the shift". Drivers receive a percentage of the takings and have to fuel the cab. The only people in the taxi industry making decent money are the licence owners, the operators (not the drivers), and the taxi management companies. Drivers would not make the minimum wage if they worked a 38 hour week, no holidays or sick, or long service leave, pay your own superannuation and workers compensation, "self-employed" remember. Before Howard, when we had a CES, the CES would not list taxi driving jobs as these jobs did not meet the definition of suitable employment, as they do not pay a fair wage, do not provide award conditions, are not conducted at reasonable hours.
No doubt there are decent hard-working taxi drivers, but, in todays employment market one wonders why they are doing this job for such poor financial reward. They must really like the work.
As to my comment re invalid pensioners and dole cheats, my last job before retirement was as a fraud investigator for the Dept. of Social Security and I can assure you, taxi driving was an occupation rife with welfare cheats.

My favorite is letting the tires down. Always do more than one. Pretty harmless but boy inconvenient in the morning.
One plced I lived the Neighbour use to park in the street in front of his unit when he had an off street parking spot. This particular night I legally parked my girlfriends car in the street where he usually did. He left a very abusing letter on the windscreen saying that it was his spot. Next morning he had two flats.
Rusty old nails (ones with big heads) infront of the tires work.
Also a motorcyle mate of mine had a water bottle with brake fluid in it. He would ride up behind the offending vehicleat the next stop and squirt abit onto a panel.
