Yeah. I thought it would've been better. But we did a lot of inland tracks so maybe that was it. Normally on a (road) trip I get 9.4l/100km.

Yeah we did have a good time. And really, the number of yobbos is low compared to the people who do the right thing. Even tho it was supposed to be a crowded time, there were lots of places where there were less cars than Woolies Maleny. It wasn't hard to escape :-)
You have to go even if it's just once, it's a great place, I loved it and no I'm not a rev head.
One of my fave places in Australia.
Except for the time I used the public toilet, then got screamed at for taking a d*mp in someone elses pit toilet. Honestly I thought it was a public toilet.
You can understand why they got annoyed though eh.
:eek::eek::eek:
Must have been mighty soft..... That's about the same as my V8 DiscoII last september:p
FYI .. they also work in a small area in the north east corner of Dilli Village camp ground... last seen marked with a small pile of sticks by the 15yo that camped with us:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Glad you had a great time.... it really is a place to visit at least once..
Mark
We were there in November and had a great time. Except for the tour bus drivers I can't say that there is anything wrong with the place.
We will be going back for sure. The kids did not want to leave.
It gets a lot worse if you're running a 110 at a touch under 3.5tonne, running on aggressive narrow profile mud tyres and when you get the tides wrong forcing you to drive in the soft stuff at the hi-tide mark!!??!! :whistling:
I didn't get bogged though...
BTW - For those that haven't been, Fraser IS the place to go. Forget Cape York.. Fraser was the highlight of our trip around Oz.

I can only sing Frasers Islands praises, have been twice last year and back again in March this year. Love the place, the environment, camping on the beach. I think anywhere at a busy time it going to have idiots, it isnt only reserved for Fraser and to be honest never really noticed much if any of that sort of behaviour. I can drive down the shops and get confronted by more idiots than a whole 4 days there. Oh and 4.4 V8 averaged around 15.5 on the sand and tracks

Let's do a time warp and bring this forward to now.
Heading off there for 10 days soon. Hopefully most of the yobbos will be back at work, tho no doubt the green monsters and white troopies full of Swedish backpackers will be around ...:angel::wasntme:
What's the go with the ferries from Inskip ??
Still 2 operating ? And which is the one not part of Kingfisher Resort ??
Cheers
And verily , it has always been thus.Quote:
The worstest track on the Island is the Waddy Point bypass
First time I went in 1979, I had to use it in my FJ40 as I got there at high tide. It was some tar then but potholes metres long.
It rivals the "road" from Crescent Head to Port Macquarie , and from Tea Gardens to Seal Rocks.
