    Thank you! never realised the old V8 was such a top piece.....

    I thought he was probably going to run out of juice, given its drinking problem........


    The local auto leccy (a 60+ yo former South African) shakes his head in total disbelief whenever an SD1 turns up at his shed.....

    But he does like Landys! (The sentimental African connection).

    Yeah and still amazes me when people say why have i got nosey tappets i just changed the oil and put that really expensive Mobil 1 in . So it should be ok
    mmmm it is a really old engine , out well before Mobil 1 was ever thought off

    Drove round the country in a 3.5 stage one ute,stock standerd other than larger tyres and bigger oil filter. A truly classic car,nice to drive and with heaps of burble to boot.

    Great engine and sad to see it die an unfortunate death, but life goes on

    Still the best sounding V8 IMO
