What a fantastic day! It went by so quickly there were dozens of things I didn't get to see but loads of interesting stuff I did get to see. Even helping out on the gate was good because I got a close-up look at all kinds of different Landys and their owners. The convoy in with the REMLR crowd was a great experience - I'll do a bit more detailed write up in the REMLR forum with photos. There was a beautiful 76 forward control in the convoy too - I'd like to have had a closer look at that but I was too busy gawping at the 1950 ex-military Series 1 and the Series 2 workshop vehicle. Then there was the car boot sale, the freebies from the Land Rover Australia stand, the new Defender (which they wouldn't let us open the bonnet!), the accessory exhibits, the AULRO lineup, helping park the Defenders, the LROC goodies to buy from the tent (they are selling off all the 40th anniversary stuff real cheap), getting recovery points from Ladas via Ron (thanks guys), Scouse even remembered to bring some parts for my Disco despite having a lot of other things on his mind at the moment (thanks Scouse), thanks to Edd who loaned me $20 to buy some military jerry cans, and on and on. Phew!

Many thanks to the Organisers and helpers from LROC and AULRO, especially to the LROC committee members who did a huge amount of behind the scenes work to make it a successful day.

Yep what a day! At least we made it.
And thanks to all for helping make up the recovery kit for Steves Disco. He his it tucked away in the garage for the night and will now chase up some new hoses and coolant.

Just to let you all know I made it home in one piece about 1930, will have to get the flat fixed in the next couple of days - thanks to those who helped pumping it up and then changing it when it went flat again!

Very well worth the trip (if only for the $250 discount on a new steering box!) and very interesting, both the vehicles and the people. I think there were more Landrovers than last year, but this may have been a wrong impression - would be interested if anyone has official figures to compare.

Yes it was a great day. Thanks to LRH & his better half, Discowhite & Mrs DW, D110V8D, Weeds & TJS70Y (riding with me) for 'escorting' me & the Series 1 on it's first real outing.

You were all very understanding travelling behind me at 70 km/h on the freeway.
Maybe I should put the 7.50/16 tyres back on for a higher top speed for Cooma?
Can't have been too bad though, on the way home, LRH gave us a head start but couldn't catch us.

We fit the family in the 07 Defender quite nicely, however apart from the bonnet I wasn't that impressed. I have seen it now and still have the same thoughts. The dash looks out of place and the seats whilst comfy just don't do it for me. I think I'll be waiting for it to come out so the price tag on the TD5 fenders drop and pick up one of them. Or a 300tdi
