What a fantastic day! It went by so quickly there were dozens of things I didn't get to see but loads of interesting stuff I did get to see. Even helping out on the gate was good because I got a close-up look at all kinds of different Landys and their owners. The convoy in with the REMLR crowd was a great experience - I'll do a bit more detailed write up in the REMLR forum with photos. There was a beautiful 76 forward control in the convoy too - I'd like to have had a closer look at that but I was too busy gawping at the 1950 ex-military Series 1 and the Series 2 workshop vehicle. Then there was the car boot sale, the freebies from the Land Rover Australia stand, the new Defender (which they wouldn't let us open the bonnet!), the accessory exhibits, the AULRO lineup, helping park the Defenders, the LROC goodies to buy from the tent (they are selling off all the 40th anniversary stuff real cheap), getting recovery points from Ladas via Ron (thanks guys), Scouse even remembered to bring some parts for my Disco despite having a lot of other things on his mind at the moment (thanks Scouse), thanks to Edd who loaned me $20 to buy some military jerry cans, and on and on. Phew!
Many thanks to the Organisers and helpers from LROC and AULRO, especially to the LROC committee members who did a huge amount of behind the scenes work to make it a successful day.![]()
