    I made it to Darwin

Hi all. Just thought i would let you know that i finally made it to Darwin last Saturday night after a wonderful trip from Brisy. All went well till Tenant Creek were i was stoped by a truck roll over closing the highway with the cianide spill. Had to stop at three ways for a couple of days and met some great people and had a ball eating and having a few drinks with my new friends. Dont ask me what the truckys offered me??? Anyway got here and hung out at the yacht club Sunday watching the last of the race. I have started work at channel 9 which at this stage is great. If any of the Darwin crew have a room in a house that they want to rent to me then get in touch. The 110 went great but because i have a work car then the truck has to go. So incisor if your still keen then you get a great discount. Contact me.
    Life is great
    Tishhh.

I was in Katherine on Friday. The Stuart Highway was closed then and still was on Sunday when I left. The third trailer of a triple turned over & spilled. It was loaded with cyanide pellets for a gold mine. Overnight rain washed a quantity into the table drain. Major clean up and recovery action under way. You could have got around but this meant a long detour to the east on unsealed roads and probably needed local knowledge. People at Katherine all seemed to know how. The local truckies were in agreement that this sort of stuff should not be pulled in road trains, but only in single trailer rigs like explosives. The third trailer probably was swinging out of line and got a leg in the drain before the driver either noticed or got it back.

The current NT government is really on the nose with the (white) people because of the recently introduced speed limit and what is seen as excessive largesse directed to the indigenous population.

    G'day Tishhh, good on ya!

Steve from the Federal said to say g'day - I saw him a week ago and passed on your news.

No doubt lots of crocodile stories to shoot for local news eh?
