Any suggestions on what to go for. I want A/T's 245 R16/ 70 and has to be simaliar to light truck construction. As said above only found out through checking Coopers in this size is passenger construction not light truck construction.

Please help all. Open to all suggestions.
quick (dumb) question: I was told when i got my BF tires that they didn't make A/Ts 245 R16/70 which is why i got 245 R16/75?

unless he just meant they didn't have any

ps I'm going with coopes next. I know a lot of people have bagged them here but my car is not doing any outback travel anymore. Mainly high country and my travel companions cars have coopers and they seemed to hold up a lot better than mine on the same track and driving style.

Just re-checked the BFGoodrich website and 245 R16/70 is still there.

Pirelli do one too. Look at DiscoDan's post on this link for pics of what they look like on a Disco with the white lettering showing (Danny you poser)

Pretty sure they are a 245/70 16 but think they are passenger construction.

I just put on BFG A/T - 225/70 - 16 on my freelander - I went with letters out. If I had a disco - white letters out but if I had a Defender they would be in - they just don't look right with letters out.

BFGs have been good so far - only 1500km - on the road a bit noisy but OK in the rain and grip pretty well. Only tested them off road a couple of times - the ABS doesn't cut in much now nor does the TC. However the freelander is pretty light for the tyres so there is virtually no bulge so my sidewalls will last pretty well.

And just to complicate it Goodyear now make an ATR all terain version of the MTR. light truck construction and thick sidewalls. I like my MTRS though they are a noisy tyre when worn.

I bought BF's primarily because they're the only ones that make a 255/85 (Maxxis Bighorns are now available in that size. Coopers used to make them in Stt's but I not a big Coopers fan ). Have staked one a few months ago and want to repair it (you can't see the bloody hole in the tyre anyway) but so gfar so good but I have only done 4,000 kms on them so time wil tell.

Had At's in BF's years ago and got 55,000 K's out of them and I flog the sbsolute crap out of them off-road and never had a puncture (first of the KO series).

The MT/R's I had on the last Rangie did have better sidewalls though.

Not sure if they are available in that size but I would look at the Goodyear Silent Armours. I hear they are pretty tough and quiet on the road. They just were not quite aggressive enough for me.

And Goodyear MTR's are always good.

No idea but I had never thought of looking at them. Any idea what the A/T in the 245/70 16 is worth?
