    NO WAY Jamo!!!!!!
Couldnt pay me enough to put up with the CRAP!!!!
I will go up a pay level by taking the maintenence grading on.If I prove myself and I can do better than the other learner grader driver who has just moved up to construction I will get construction which is up another level.
Told the boss I will go around the other bloke within 2 months!!!!!and he has had 8 months head start.BOLD statement,Ive not done any grading, but I see what the other bloke gets up too.Not too hard an act to better!!!!
The grader will come in handy, would prefer the new excavator coming later in the year.Either will help if I wish to go mining later.

great to hear of a happy ending.
there's always one who wants to get his own way or rock the boat unnecesarily.
it's also good to hear the terms "leading hand" and "supervisor" again.
all you seem to hear these days is things like "team leader", thanks to all those PC do gooders. they should all be put up agains a wall and shot. god forbid anyone feeling less important than the boss or being at the bottom of the stack.
we're not individuals anymore, we are a team. our team leader is also part of the team, but he's the leader. not like a leading hand or a foreman or a supervisor...a "team leader"

As Dobbo will soon find out, bullying, harrassment, deliberate misinformation or hiding/withholding necessary information required for one to do the job is rife at Strathfield Signal Box (RailCorp). They don't want blokes coming to fill the vacant positions and taking their regular overtime and cutting into their 6-figure incomes.

Some intentionally try to cause other signaller to stuff up and delay trains. And people wonder why I'm not looking for promotion into a large Box?

My god! Some of you blokes have a hard day.

I go into work....turn on the radio (loud) and work away........I dont have to deal with any knobs, unless I make them.

Yes I work for someone, but it's me and the boss......thats it! We get along great.

    Too easy.
    Cheers

Me? That's why I like single man signal boxes. Only me - and I'm hard enough to get along with.

yep all for equal rights as long as they really are equal.
most PC stuff is not worth the paper it's written on.

Someone I work with,(upper management, him not me) just gave a talk on being PC, doing the right thing etc etc.
Then after wards talking about someone present said
"Did you see the rack on her !"

Mostly it's just if you face fits.

I remember about ten years ago I had a year off uni and I found a job ad at the CES at your place of work. I went in, met the boss at the time, some of the guys there and the work that was going on. It was pretty much like that! Radio on and happy looking bunch of guys. The only reason I didn't get the job is that I was honest and told the boss I was going back to uni the next year and he was looking for a keeper to train and hang on to. Have things downsized since then? The business ran out of a place near Camberwell Junction.

Jees, now i'm starting to like my job again in the military.......... "go do that?" "yes sir", "march up that hill", "yes sir", "shoot that, throw that grenade", "yes sir yes sir"..............
I keep to myself and everyone leaves me alone.........

I hate it when people are out to get what they can't have and don't have.......

    My two cents...... ....Geck.

The position needed filling for 3yrs or something i turned up in the second year of this. So she saw me as a threat cause i took some science classes from her, she is primary trained so no one understands how she can teach secondary. I started a swear jar with the kids (it got the approval of the boss and the deputy at the time) it was agreed that any student who didnt want to pay into the swear jar would do a detention for inappropriate language. One student complained to said teacher (was their year advisor at the time) that i was giving detentions out for not paying into the swear jar, not the case. She had a big bitch about me to the kids, some of the kids told me so i told the boss i didnt appreciate it. She then told the boss i wasnt doing my fair share of the science work (we shared a class i did 5 classes a fortnight she did 3) made up all the crap that wasnt true (all this was one to shift the focus from what she had done to what i hadnt done, and to make me loose my job, which wouldnt have happened). In the end the boss realised the truth and the next day she was spoken to. She left half way through period 1 crying and just went home, after that she was as nice as pie to me. She then shifted her focus to another teacher and retrained in all the stuff he taught, he had a knee operation, and before returning to work a car accident which extended his absence, during this time she took all his classes which he never got back, in the end he was suddenly moved out.

It just goes to show people will do anything to get what they want. Matt
After growing up with a Schoolteacher Mother and now having a Schoolteacher SWMBO, that sounds like pretty standard school level sniping and bitchiness.
