Good thoughts Olbod, I'm looking at three more years to retire at 57 and although one doesn't want to wish ones life away, I can hardly wait.
I work two weeks on and two weeks off now, and that doesn't give us enough time to do what we want. Just waking up each day and thinking "today I can do exactly what I want", that's where it's at for me.

well l am 49 and realised l don't have money or assets to live on in retirement and doubt the pension will still be doled out when l get to 65 so l have started to put serious $ into my superannuation account on the basis that for every $ l earn over $75000 l lose 40 cents in tax whereas if l put it into superannuation l only lose 15 cents in tax so l'm actually saving an additional 25 cents per dollar in tax payments which make me happy l'm denying Costello and Howard money to waste on defence.

    Well stop it.

I have only got 15yrs till the RAAF will force me to retire, and like you I have no money or set aside (if only you could trade in memories )

    So stop it

If you dont give the monkeys the $ to waste on defence I wont have any money to retire with But, I should be used to it by then ,, I dont seem to ever have enough money now

We don't have computers onto which we can install software. We have terminals with embedded Win XP. Even the USB ports are deactivated so we can't use memory sticks.

    Now that's security minded.

There are web forwarding sites. You get up whatever the page is, then type in the web address that you want to go to. Search google for anonymous browsing or similar. Of course it won't stop keylogging software, or cache snooping.

Re the half-full glass. To a pessimist the glass is half empty, to an optimist the glass is half full, to an engineer the glass is twice the size it needs to be.

Seriously, retire as soon as you think you can afford to. you wont regret it. I went at 56, and that was only because I hung on for a year hoping the runt and the weasel would be handing out redundancy packages to all & sundry in my Dept. like they did to the CES. You wonder how you found time to go to work
