Dunno if I mentioned this one...
3 years ago I bought a house in Toormina (Coffs Harbour). It was only 3 years old.
Last July I was informed it now had termite damage which had been picked up during the annual inspection - the termites were seen in the roof cavity. The house was protected by a termite control system but owing to a faulty concrete pour and the perimeter termite protection system not going far enough out past the concrete, the termites had found a way in.
Luckily I had maintained the 3-yearly recharge of the system and the annual inspections. I'm still negotiating with the builder over the repairs as the house is still under warranty (just).
Fortunately, the damage appears to have been limited to only two walls. A lot of the timber in one wall will need replacement.

Have spent last 15 mins reading this post..
that is some funny stuff....first i laughed ,then i felt for you ron..then i laughed some more...
All this bad luck...It has gotta end!!!!!!
Doesn't it???
I'd have the rights to the book and the movie, the tv series, the cartoon strip and the merchandise... but then again.....
Ron, there is a positive job out there for you. Quality Control at any major manufacturer; I'm sure Chrysler will lift its game enormously, with your natural talent and abilities...(...mightn't get a car out of the factory for a while tho'....
)
Actually, forget Chrysler, take on the world, Chinese manufacturers definitely need your skills.
cheers, GQ
Good news! I fixed the iPaq last night. I pulled it apart and found a piece of plastic from a trim piece aropund the SD card slot opening had broekn off and fallen inside the SD card slot and was preventing correct contact.
The problem with the keys was that the ribbon cable from the front keypad was dislodged.
Bad news! I tried to turn on my Solis SL90 espresso machine this morning and it won't power up. The lights come on for a fraction of a second then go out. Out of warranty, I'm afraid.
Ah, well. Back to plunger coffee.
