I haven't had the problem recur.

A couple of years ago we bought a new fridge for the laundry. It failed twice in warranty and was repaired. It has failed again (not cooling below 19 deg C in the main part of the fridge but seems OK in the freezer). It's 6 months out of warranty but the warranty company, won't do anything about it:

"It's out of warranty".

"But it's failed again."

"It's out of warranty".

The retailer just refers us to the warranty agent.

The service charges make it uneconomical to have it fixed.

Probably got ice in the drain trough which stops cold air getting to the fridge section.Turn it off for 24hours and leave the doors open(so the ice melts).Then turn it on and see how it goes.
If it goes well,that is the issue and the insulation in the cabinet is stuffed,not worth repairing:(
It will eventually build up the ice again.

Whenever i buy an appliance,i take out the 5 yr warranty,has paid for itself many times:)

Should I pull the interior fittings apart to see if something is blocking it?

Late last year I tried to buy the book "Pentax K-7" by Peter K. Burian off eBay.

It never arrived and the seller refunded the money a few weeks back.

So I found another copy on eBay and bought it (different seller).

It hasn't arrived either - it's been two months since the sale.

I think those evil Canon/Nikon owners in the mail system are stopping me getting this book! :mad:

In all my years of eBaying, these are the only items that have never arrived.

If you are concerned about Nikon and Canon, become a purchasing officer in both of them and they will be broke and out of business in no time :D

You could try,make sure it is unplugged when you do it,sounds like no cold air is getting to the fridge section,that is if it is a 'frost free',and has a fan in the freezer?

If it's a Fischer and Paykel frost free fridge, they have another fan between the fridge and freezer section to feed cold air to the fridge section.

This is a variable speed, 12v fan and could either be faulty or have the wires pinched off (seen it several times) as it's a really tiny gauge, like telephone wire.

As I haven't been on the forum for over 6 months, this saga hasn't been updated.

Never fear, I have managed to continue buying faulty products - I just can't remember them all.

I recently bought an engineer's square. The problem was that, when I got it home and checked, it wasn't.

I had a bit of a problem proving it to the tool shop. They didn't understand scribing a line with the square one way, flipping it and scribing another line that should be parallel to the first. They did replace it and I checked it before leaving the store (I took scrap metal and a scriber with me).

I bought a mini-cam to wear on my helmet. It didn't work. The supplier sent another.

I bought a set of mirror extenders for my motorbike. One mirror has a RH thread, the other LH. The extenders arrived. One had a RH threaded extender and a RH threaded hex cap screw. The other had a RH threaded extender and a LH hex cap screw. The supplier in China posted another one.

I bought a set of carbide tipped lathe bits. Had them for a while now but tonight was the first time I'd used one. On the first cut to reduce the thickness of a bolt head, the carbide tip broke.

Why did I want to reduce the thickness of a bolt head? Well, actually, I had to thin down 8 bolts. I bought a set of wheels to bolt under my radial arm saw table to make it mobile. Two were the swivelling type. When I went to bolt them on, the raised section of the base wasn't high enough so the swivelling section hit the bolt heads and wouldn't rotate. I couldn't take them back to Bunnings as I'd enlarged the mounting holes to clear 8mm bolts. I have no idea how the manufacturer expects them to be attached.

I recently bought four of the same castors from Bunnings to put under a trolley in my shed Ron.

The bolts that I used to secure them came out of the handpiece of my MIG welder. :D

You haven't seen my welding. I have had a WIA MIG for close on 20 years but I can no longer see what I'm welding. I'll start a weld and within a few seconds the weld is nowhere near the joint but is usually a couple of cm away. Seriously.

And it looks like the proverbial chicken droppings. :(

As I've said before, I can spell but I can't weld.

Also, had I welded them on, they'd no longer rotate! The bearings would have welded up.
