    Wet season fun

Last Mon a friend and I went out for a bit of fun in the mud. He's just spent alot of money on his 06 hilux regarding recovery gear and was keen to go test it all out (and that we did).
Seeing as I had no recovery gear it was an unanamis vote that I go first, hence why I was always seemingly the one needing to get recovered.
Which for the record was only once, and it was stuck GOOD.
Several attampts with a snatch were taken, it didn't budge an inch literly.

It was soon realised how well the 90 had actually done when we tried to get the hilux within winching distance..........after we got him unbogged. We planned a new angle of attack. We strapped all the winch extensions we could muster and threw the rope out. With a single line pull the winch couldn't pull me an inch (again). Damn I had done well. We were 60m and didn't have enough line to use a snatch block, out with the turfer. Threw it out as far as we could extend it(we were starting to get desperate) and used it as an extension. Before anyone comments, I know!
So with a block out we managed to move the car about 2-3m at a time before the winch had to be rested.

The car was basicly resting on the chassis and an incredible suction had formed in the floodplain mud. I spent 2hrs with my hands digging the mud out from around the diffs, g box, and wheels. Boy was I dirty.
Lucky there was a shallow waterhole near by that we could wash ourselves in.

And remember the lux didn't go anywhere that I hadn't already gone through, hence why there are no pic's of me.
Next time I'll give him the camera.

    Cheers

    Great pics!!!!
Wouldnt have been humid at all whilst you were wallowing around in that mud I bet
If the hilux went first you wouldnt have needed to join all your gear together,1 strap to haul him out would have been plenty
