Stevo............will be nice to see the pics of the 'New Family Member'............must admit our family have always been suckers for dogs in general, and over 40 years have had many 'Shepherds'.

We lost our last 2 during the twelve months past...Digit & Tango.........

You can never 'Replace' them, but it's nice and re-assuring to have a new lil fella around,

Enjoy him mate, look fwd to the pics,

    Pug

    Good luck mate,

Growing up on a farm, we went through a few dogs and we used to name them from where they came from or if we noticed a word that got them to come back.

1 dog we got from the pound, a border collie wouldnt come to anything we called her for months but when my old man called out sooee to the pigs she came running.

    So she got named sooee.

We had brown dog, black dog and guess, fudge mongral (a blue healer), gunt (you can just imagine how that kelpie got named) and butch.

Brown dog was black but we got hom off a family called Brown and vise versa with Black dog, Fudge was originaly smithy but went from black to a fudge colour over night so recieved a renaming (reason for a party and a drink).

My dogs now are Jack (wife wanted it for our first kid but I named the blue healer that first so she couldnt) and Max Beagle (her grand fathers name for the same reason) both came from the pound.

Eveyone needs a dog or 2, the worlds best house and car alarm, door bell and play mate for kids and adults alike.

    cheers Damo

I use to have a Cockateil called B'fer (B for Bird).

I hope all works out well for you Stevo, I'm sure the new family member will feel right at home with you all.

Unfortunately for us we are looking at doing renovations this year and shipping our (remaining, originally both) doggies to our parents-in-law for a month or so whilst they are being carried out.

Since we lost our Ricki (28 days ago ) we are unlikely to get another doggie until the reno's are complete, so we don't have to uproot them so early in their life with us

Best of luck, can't wait to see the piccies

    With Pics

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated, makes me feel all warm inside . Well after a long day ie had to be in brissie at 8.30 for soccer and couldnt see pups till 3, so it was daddy day care all day visiting various parks on the shore side, various squabbles ( I have 3 bratskies) till finally we headed off to the breeders. When we got there one could hear the familiar bark of a shepherd, hold it in mate, hold it in. Met the breeder who I had got Benz from, had a chat and to be told that later his full brother from same litter was coming in. Unfortunately we had to go before he came.

Anyhoo, walked out the back to see these little bundles of fluff, the children were ecstatic and so was I. We watched them play for quite some time, myself particularly looking out for a special one, and he was there. Very attentive towards the children and full of spirit. Now as the missus said, geez couldnt you take better pics , it was with the phone and as they had been vaccinated earlier we couldnt get in with them, but there was plenty of pats and gentle nips through the fence. Paid a deposit and we bring him home next Saturday . Took me 20mins to drag the kids away and the youngest again asked could we call him Benzy, he is now hooked on calling him Scooby Doo, so I am working on that one as well . So here are the pics:
