    D3 ticking sound

    Hiya,

I haven't heard this myself but other people have told me that my new D3 V6SE makes a ticking sound when driving. These people have heard it when I pull into the driveway and while the vehicle is still moving.

I can't hear it from inside.

Like a paddle pop stick in the spokes of a bike they say.
    Any ideas?

    Cheers Mark

Just a suggestion, try driving some where flat and drive passed slowly and see if people can hear the noise.

If they can, drive passed them again but as you do, take your foot is off the accelerator and pull your park brake switch up and hold it up.

You will come to a stop but if it’s the reason for your noise, as it applies, the noise will probably stop.

    Cheers.

    ?????

When in motion, all the park brake switch does is use the ABS systems to perform an emergency stop. Once stationary, it'll apply the park brake.

I.e.... It's exactly the same as nailing the brake peddle and then applying the park brake when the car has come to a halt.

You've got something stuck in your tyre.

Like a stone or a screw etc.

Forgot about that one! Happens to me all the time. Sometimes I do a check and remove them, just in case they are tek screws about to burrow in.
