Dave that sux mate, I'll try and find some things wrong with the Disco for you lol.

I had to finish mine at Night school, living in Mt ev and driving to Coberg 2 nights a week for 2 years sucked big time but I got there in the end.

Wasnt a stuff up, First company went out of buisiness and then with the Job I had I had to wait the 5 years to do it as an in trade apprenticship.

This OJT stuff was just coming in then and when one of my teachers came out to our work shop he was dumbfounded at the fact there was a S2 landy on the hoist, and excavator pulled appart in one bay, 6 huge ride on mowers with all different things wrong with them and a set of cylinder heads which I was grinding at the time.

He asked me a couple of questions about the Landy and then went and spoke to my boss for a while.

All were my jobs and I was also doing onsite breakdowns that week so I was flat out and my teacher couldnt believe the different types of equipment we had to work on.

I loved that job for that, but burn out sux too.

    Yeah, I get it now.

Happened to me in 1978. Almost nine years in, injured, invalided out, went to Marine and Harbours to register for work, handed my service trade papers over the desk to be told. "Sorry mate, NOT DLI RECOGNISED"

Took years to work my way back. Finally got my full steam certificates back, just in time for all the new industrial regulations, to make my qualifications redundant.

Public Servants and their "interpretation" of things. Bah, humbug.

Similar thing when I was trying to crack into the Electronics field in the early 90's.

Did the courses that I was told I had to do, 2 years and went back to the company I had been working for who then told me I was out of date and had to do another course to catch up, so I did that and worked in between to keep in the loop and when I was finished, the computers overnight changed from 086 based ECU's to pentium and I was back at square 1 having to do another course.

I quit and worked in a hardware store for 2 years to work out what I wanted to do.
