    Defender video camera mount

Since the question has been asked about on board video cameras, I thought I would show the way I have done it.

    Where to put it:

    What to mount it on:

    The mount I made:

    Fitted in place:

The idea was for it to be easy to make, easy to install/remove in a hurry, and not cut or drill holes in the dash etc. It is a very tight fit and very stable.

That is pretty nifty, and works quite well judging from the demo.

After seeing my navigators shaky footage from todays trip, I'm definately going to copy your idea.

    Thank you very much.

As we all know, no two Defenders are alike, so you will have to make your own. I was going to glue rubber to the top of it, but couldn't find any in the 5 minutes alocated, so I just used genuine imitation leather look vinyl instead.

Yes, my wife also went to the ground/sky, ground/sky school of videography. Much less arguments now.

That works extremely well. I take it the camera has come kind of electronic steady correction since, in the demo, the bonnet floats up and down but the horizon stays quite stable? I take it your test track was around McLeans Island and the stop bank?

    Very nice.

I suppose I'd need to buy a video camera to make it work though.

There's ALWAYS a catch with these great 'cheap' ideas.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
