    Friday the 18th watagans run

    Hi guys,
After spending thousands on repairs on my Disco 2 in the last few weeks i want to get my monies worth and go for a drive through the watagans this friday as i have a day off work.
It wont be too tough as i have really crap tyres and no lift, more exploring tracks and conquering at least two mud holes i found on my own and chickened out from trying on my own.
If your interested let me know

    Okay we now have coming
    Aaron
    Dobbo
    Relay

I feel your pain, I too have been without my D2 for the last few weeks (4 1/2) . I also have the crap tyres on and have no lift. Ironically I can spare a few hours on Friday and the Watagan's are my backyard. I'm in.

My other half may be very interested. That is provided we haven't begun removing the box outa the 110, which I doubt. On the other hand he may even take Nev (our little Rocky) and trip with ya.

    I'll be at work...sadly. Depressing isn't it.

    Hi guys,
just got home from mothers day bash,

I was thinking we would meet at "The Letter A" which is on George Downs Drive north of Mangrove mountain. There is an access track which heads into the forest from there.

For those of you with maps, I would like to drive down warrawolong road on the morrisett map and a track that follows the escarpment across the northern edge of the forest shown on the quorrobolong.
When i was in venturers which is older scouts we did the great north walk. On one leg we started near pokolbin and on the second day walked up a long rocky hill. I think that arvo we camped at the basin. I am trying to find that track as it is burnt in my memory as a I have gotta climb this hill one day.

I was thinking a 9am start at the letter A but am totally open to suggestions, I don't want any tracks that are full on but are willing to try other tracks if people have ideas. Warrawolong has several large mud holes, but would be easy apart from the mud. The track up the north seems to end at Quorrobolong but i am looking at a track on a map, it could be blocked by trees or a gate?? I just want to have some fun.

I am coming from epping so up the F3 where are you guys coming from?? The reason i suggest the letter A is so we dont have to back track too much??

    Suggestions

    Aaron

Dobbo and Relay's (better half) live on the other end of the track. From Relays house (which is literally in the mountains) we can get to the old scout hall heading South in around 15 minutes.

Lol yes, we live on the other end of the watagans. But that's okay, 9am means my other half will be up early and will have had some fun even before he gets there!

I'll send the respective maps. Mine are pretty old (10-20 years!), have all the juicy old tracks on them so I'm fairly sure you'll be able to find what you're looking for. Dont expect my better half to be able to read em though...lol he just knows the tracks, what they look like, where they're at. I dont even know half the tracks 'round here by name!

But oh-well, I'm sure you'll all have fun.

I will be leaving Wollongong and hope to pass through chatswood around 6:30/7:00 am,what is the big "A"?? is it the amber park stud farm? or is it the way the three roads meet,I see there is a dubbo gully road in that area as well I presume that is where Dubbo got his user name from
