the applicable ADR is as confusing as the Aust road rules, but then thats federal interference at its best, take a good working piece of state legislation and by threat, have each state comply and change( yes they threatened, i went to all the lectures)
maybe someone should start a politics thread on the slowly dimishing, separation of powers and the increasing federal interference. ( King Howard at his best)

from ADR 7 vehicle other than L

    1.1.1. Position
1.1.1.1. In width no individual specifications.
1.1.1.2. In height: no individual specifications.
1.1.1.3. In length: at the front of the vehicle and fitted in such a way that the light emitted does not cause discomfort to the driver either directly or indirectly through the rear-view mirrors and/or other reflecting surfaces of the vehicle.
so this excerp has no width specs and no height specs #3 gives the clues 'no discomfort...' , so that seems to cover roof mounts

in daylight the setup looks good, low profile, not of the 'Bundy ute' style, in case i missed it, ( this is starting to equal the stars thread) what are the specs on the lights, 55w or 100w, direct off battery I think you said.
    Whats with the P plate?

    john
they are 55w it is off the battery which will be connected up to a switch on the intrument panel where the heated rear window and fog light switches are i'm connecting it up to another fog light switch (but will change it so i dont mistake it for the fog light) have done this so it stays neat and tidy in the car (in keeping) plus there is a light on the switch will let me know if they have been left on...........the switch connects up to the relay under the bonnet but is not intended for road use so will only be connected offroad........as for the p plates??? i dont understand i'm on p plates whats to explain.......came over form the uk and had not held my license long enough to avoid me going on them, but at least they are green and kinda match the car a bit, maybe not

no actually brought the switch off a member on this forum.....although unfortunatly he sent me the swtich but no plug on the back so i have to take instrument panel off and see if i have a spare plug in there lying around for may be the front fogs or something other wise i have to source a plug or use some incie bincie spade connectors

there is a switch on there at the moment though plug and all going for about 9 dollars i think
