Just read latest issue 4wd monthly and had a feature on a disco td5 power up by Davis performance impressive numbers 180kw and 520nm of torque did not say how much it all cost though. Puts my modified 4l v8 rangie to shame

    Exhaust $2000

I have a Davis chip in mine, i also had the air filter box done too and the big chip in too, but had them put the standard air filter box back and drop to the medium chip.
The problem with the airbox mod is you loose down low torque and for me that's a big issue because i need the down low torque for towing, aspecially when taking off as i have a manual, it shouldn't be an issue with an auto.

Also the big chip makes it smoke ALOT, if you get the intercooler it is supposed to stop the excessive smoke.

So what's the logic behind the less restrictive airbox reducing low-down torque? I assume that this has been tested seperately to the different chip. I thought better airflow might be beneficial for reducing spool-up time too and have the modification on my to-do list for this reason. But I wouldn't like to regress from my current setup, also a manual and doing lots of lower-rev chugging about using low-range throttle mapping in high range. I'm intrigued!

Don't know which chip I have but Bruce owned the rig and he did the mods. With the auto conversion low down power isn't a problem the 3200 stallie is!
