As long as the fender is ok![]()
Why does everything always have to happen at once?
Riding out to uni this morning, I got stuck in my bike - somehow my left foot got thrown forwards - anyway, foot in between the front wheel and the fork (ouch!), tip over, truck behind me leaves skid marks on the road. Fortunately a couple of guys who were walking up to their office helped me off the road & into their office, where they patched me up - nothing too major, thankfully, only some skin lost off the knee & elbow, and after doing a little walking at uni some sore ankles - although given that I was doing 35-40kph when I came off it's really quite good! The guys reckoned I should buy a lottery ticket!
The bike's off getting a new front fork - I managed to kick it quite badly.
Anyway, this all happens the day that mum's (and by co-driver extension, my) new(ish) defender finally gets delivered(remember I asked about tyre kickers!) - all in all a lot of running around picking up my bike (it stayed at the office), taking it to the bike shop, being home to take delivery, etc. etc. you get the idea. Anyway, without further ado:
on the truck
as delivered
I'm now quite happy at the 'fender, but a little knocked about by the accident. Although, as I said, am in good condition (ie. was able to turn the defender around so that you can actually get past it)

yeah, I'm too tired to remember the important bits!
It's a 2006 model, with about 12k on the clock, in good nick, and with the bits we need (towbar/ racks).
had trouble parking it - it walked over the stake I put down to tell me when to stop but I couldn't feel it on the clutch! I think I'll be happy with it![]()
Looks like a nice fender. Sounds like you need some toe clips on your pedals though![]()

sorry to hear about your incident, glad to hear you are ok though. Did you end up buying the loto ticket?

no lotto ticket as yet... too lazy (read: avoiding opportunity for pain) to go up the street and get one! .. and I'm afraid that if I push it I might end up with Ron's luck!!
plans for the fender?
Well, it's booked in for some rear seats (for the school bus runs), when they're done, rego, and then it gets on to normal duty - nothing too strenuous most of the time - round town, taking my scouts to camp/wherever, some trips away - oh, and teaching my brother to drive
Later, the fridge will go back in, then the bigger fuel tank, second battery, solar panel... but after the pocket has recovered, I think.
Ferry noise mate! Congratulations on the Defender and I hope your foot recovers soon.![]()
