Was talking with a fellow yesterday who was telling me the sad fate of the first Land Rover owner in Toowoomba (struck by another car and killed while changing the tyre on the way home with his new purchase). That was 1949. Mind you, my informant was driving ex-Army jeeps at that time - still has 2 and the parts for a third. And he's not happy with the medical profession for knocking him back on his pilot's license last year.
At 80 I don't think that's too bad going
He still works at his heavy vehicle reconditioning business.
