I understand the danger of flying bow shackles,,

but got a pic of the "looped strap"??
Eeeerrr no but, loop the snatch strap under and over the equaliser strap and feed the snatch strap through it's other eye, then put the stick in the loop and pull tight to stop the stick coming out, this stops the snatch strap tightening on it's self alowing you to seperate the straps.

    Same as when joining straps.

I have them fitted to my D2 and they are tough. I have an ARB Bull Bar and just happened to have the holes already in the right place for these to fit.

They use egsisting holes in the front chassis with up graded bolts and nuts.

I can get a photo of them for you tomorrow if interested.
I think we would all be interested

This is another way by feeding the equaliser strap through the snatch strap eye.

    Cheers Baz.

I hope this works I haven't done this before but below should be a link to a Thread in Queensland recommended suppliers area where I have a Bridge / Sling Thread. It shows how they look out the front of the car.
I can post an under body shot tomorrow which will show how strong they are and how they work in with the chassis.

Yes, but check the rating as you would any strap.

The longer strap would give a tighter contact point on the pull which could lead to problems a shorter strap is better. Also the strap will move around on the recovery at an angle.

As for the joining of straps another few useful ways to join the snatch strap are to use a shovel handle, a loop of another strap, a canvas bag, a bunched up section of rope or even some riggers gloves.

flat straps are just so yesterday---

    (dontch just luv the www,,,)

Special features of Nobles RECOVERY-MATE Nylon Strops:
    • Durable rubber cover resists cutting and abrasion
    • The high strength Nylon fibre core has excellent inherent stretch characteristics (up to 20%) and this assists in recovery operations
    • Each strop has the capacity clearly marked on an attached tag
    • Each strop has an individual serial number ensuring traceability through the Nobles Quality System
    • The soft eyes and relative light weight and flexibility of the strops allow for easy and flexible installations in difficult terrain or areas where access is tight or awkward
    • RECOVERY-MATE strops are virtually maintenance free as the core is sealed against water, oil, dust, grit and other contaminants
    • Excellent durability compared to traditional webbing snatch straps
    • RECOVERY-MATE strops are available in four standard lengths ranging from 6m to 20m but they can also be manufactured to order if a non-standard length is required or if thimbles, hooks, links, shackles or other fittings are required to be held captive in the eyes
    • The standard 4wd Snatch Strop is 8,000 kg Breaking Load x 10m length and has soft eyes each end.
