    Stockton Beach in a storm?

    Hey,

I was thinking of heading to stockton somtime over the long weekend... Probably like every other man and his dog but it'll be good. Will this storm do to the beach.. still able to get to the dunes easily? (i havnt been before)
with the waves as big as they are (12 foot i heard?) is it pointless trying?

    Thanks, Linc

Wet sand is easier. You'll have no trouble getting in.

It just means you get higher in the dunes before getting stuck

Batten down every single thing in the car. Once you open a door, the wind will have whatever it is a kilometre away.

    And don't go alone..

    Regards

Hmmm, that's a decent idea, as long as it's not Monday, as the F3 will be a carpark in the evening. I've been on Stockton beach in a storm, and it's not pretty. Visibility drops and driving around isn't much fun. However, if it lets up a little and you want do a bit of exploring, send me a PM, I'm not doing anything this weekend.

Stockton isnt much fun at all in a storm, looks to be calming down a bit now though, if your camping, camp inland near the bush somewhere with lots of wind protection

It's tempting, but so is sleep after a nightshift.

With the amount of rain we have had up here some areas of the beach will be like conceret and some areas will be flooded and verry soft like quick sand in places be warned of clifts on the shore line with the sea the way it is i wouldnt go near the shore line unless up higher on the small dunes ....

Tho it can be good fun and usualy theres hardly any other tracks in the sand which is a change from the usual tracks every where and if its windy batten down all the loose stuff in ya car as max mentioned and becareful not to get sand blasted and get the stuff in ya eyes

    Have fun
