    They say that Volvo was to blame for most of the losses incurred by Ford
    Even so it throws a cat amongst the pidgeons
    I for one am alarmed whenever a Marque such as Land Rover is on the market

    Isn't the TD5 a volvo borrowed motor?? that would explain how the losses mounted.

    The TD5 is as LandRover as they come. I'm not sure if Volvo used it though.

    Too true, so yet again Landrover is left flapping in the wind.

    I thought Ford would have had more brains than that and just got rid of Volvo and Jag rather than their only decent 4wd company.

    ford already sell more 4wds than anything (and anyone) else,,

    why would you want a high maintenance brand like LR?

    So the question is, where does that leave the Trans-fender (or the Defend-it)? Will the next owner try to drop one of their own engines in to replace it in a couple of years? And there go my high hopes that we may have one day seen Ford dealers & service centres picking-up Landrover parts & servicing in the bush.
